It sounds corny, but ISP has easily been the best decision I’ve made at Penn. Besides introducing me to classmates and friends I’ll have for life, my experience in ISP has fundamentally changed the way I think about the world. I learned how to attack complex problems with a critical eye, and really analyze things down to their fundamental parts. ISP taught me not to take anything for granted – that there are important assumptions hidden behind every belief. My ISP experience has transcended freshman year. I’m now a sophomore, and I find myself applying the ideas I learned in ISP to my current classes all the time. The writing skills I honed freshman year I use even outside the classroom as a Sports Editor at the Daily Pennsylvanian. Athletics might actually be the only area of my life that ISP hasn’t directly informed.
