I am a sophomore majoring in Physics with a concentration in Biology. I also am involved in Hillel leadership and tutor West Philadelphia students in math. ISP allowed me to learn topics and ways of thinking that I never would have learned within my major. The skills of writing, analysis, and truly critical thinking that I developed in the program have aided me both inside and outside of the classroom. The fact that it was a yearlong program meant that I was able to build relationships with all of the professors. Most importantly, living and taking classes with the same group of students for an entire year allowed me to make some of my best friends at Penn. ISP defined my freshman year in a really positive way, and pushed me to learn in ways that I never had before.
