Who Is Eligible?
All single-degree students admitted into the College of Arts and Sciences who do not intend to enroll in any of the other intensive programs available to Penn students (for example, Vagelos Scholars or University Scholars).
Students in multiple degree programs and in divisions other than the College (Wharton, Engineering or Nursing) are not eligible for the Robert K. Johnson Integrated Studies Program.
How to Apply
- Access the program’s application through this link.
- Consult the Robert K. Johnson ISP application prompt, including the course descriptions included within the prompt. You will complete your application essay within the Applicant Portal but will need to address the questions in the prompt.
- On Penn’s housing application, select “RKJ Integrated Studies” as your first choice for Residential Housing Program. If you are accepted into the Robert K. Johnson Integrated Studies Program, you will live in Hill College House with other students in BFS from across Penn’s four undergraduate schools (RKJ Integrated Studies-College, Nursing, SEAS, and Wharton). If you select any other house as your first choice for residence, you will be disqualified from consideration for the Robert K. Johnson Integrated Studies Program. Additionally, students that are accepted into RJK Integrated Studies can request a roommate, but the roommate must also be in one of the BFS branches (RKJ Integrated Studies-College, Nursing, SEAS, or Wharton).
Important Dates

- Students will be notified of the status of their application by May 20.
